About Us
Our tofu is handcrafted in small batches using organic, non-GMO soybeans grown on Maine and New England farms. We are a family committed to eating local, organic, and seasonal food. We love growing our own food and supporting local farmers and producers.
Heiwa Tofu was founded in 2008. We knew that we could source local organic soybeans to produce fresh delicious tofu. With the support of the community, we've done it.
We started out in a garage bay in downtown Camden, using second-hand equipment and piecing it together. In 2012, we moved into Coastal Farms Food Processing in Belfast. When they closed its operations, we purchased a building in a highly visible location in Rockport in the spring of 2016. We continue to expand and fine-tune our business with the help of our amazing team and the network of mentors that surround us.
